Philadelphia is known as “Our Fair City” because of its two world-renowned fairs, the Choctaw Indian Fair and the Neshoba County Fair. Both of these contribute to the strong economy of this community.
Philadelphia’s distinction as a Main Street City has brought about a revitalization of a beautiful downtown area and historical district. The downtown square and surrounding streets are filled with unique and unusual gift shops and fine clothing stores. The area is in a state of progressive growth with new businesses opening daily. All of this has brought good sales tax support for city and county improvement.
Philadelphia is a great place for a family to call home. There are three excellent schools in the county and numerous recreation parks and facilities located within the community. One of the most recent recreation additions is the Pearl River Resort that provides entertainment for all family members.
Anyone wishing to relocate or to visit Philadelphia will find it to be a progressive city with a commitment to friendliness and hospitality.
