The local park system offers a variety of activities. Northside Park is currently undergoing a $4.3 million expansion and renovation project. The park will offer eight new baseball and softball fields, four new soccer fields, a recreational lake, walking trails and tennis courts among other things.

The first phase of improvements should be completed by Spring 2008.

Improvements to the gym and other buildings at Booker T. Park are also planned. An outdoor stage is also planned on the football field at Booker T. Park along with a new restroom and concession facility.

Westside Park will also see improvements with remodeled kitchen and bathrooms in the community center while additional parking, new lighting and landscaping are planned along with improvements to the softball field, tennis and basketball courts.
