Training Incentives

Mississippi is fortunate to have excellent programs to train workers. East Central Community College (ECCC) Division of Workforce Training & Economic Development continues to be the largest workforce program in the state, providing quality education and training to businesses, industries and individuals in Neshoba, Leake, Winston, Newton, and Scott counties in Mississippi. The staff assists in developing a productive workforce while providing the capacity for continuous improvement. Some of the services that can be coordinated by the staff include, but are not limited to writing training projects for employers, assistance with developing training materials, providing training facilities, helping to locate instructors for training, and helping improve basic skills for individuals. The division also helps individuals obtain their GED (high school equivalency), enroll in classes to earn a degree or certificate to help them obtain a job or change careers.

Services are often at no cost to the individual or company and can be customized to meet specific needs. Some of the benefits of the program are to enhance employee performance, to increase employee skill level, improve the use of technology at the workplace, and to increase productivity. ECCC can help with training programs from safety to professional development type skills to advance technical training. This training program is just one way to help with the ever changing demands that area businesses face.

Our world class companies take great advantage of these programs in order to keep current with ever-changing workplace needs. Federal programs such as the On-the-Job-Training program supplement our state programs. Our delivery systems have been streamlined to eliminate unnecessary paperwork and bureaucracy.

Other innovative programs relating to employ ability certificates documenting foundation work skills are being implemented by our local training institutions.

For more information on any of these programs one may contact the WIN Job Center at (601) 656-2811 for Philadelphia, or (601) 656-0680 for Choctaw Indian Reservation
